A smart woman, she listened to her physician’s recommendation. Her initial lumpectomy failed to cut off the tumor mass. She was brave enough to go through a double mastectomy. Most women would hesitate having both breast excised. But that’s exactly what she decided to do. The radical mastectomy seemed drastic. But it was the best way to cut off those deadly cancer cells from her body. Surgery is a standard cancer treatment. The aberrant mass of tissues is lopped off from the body.
