My team mate discovered a video that simplifies fighting cancer growth. It was presented in simple terms by William Li, president of Angiogenesis Foundation. This non-profit organization is re-conceptualizing the global fight against cancer.
What is Angiogenesis?
The concept of angiogenesis was discovered 40 years ago by the late Dr. Judah Folkman. Angiogenesis means sourcing out nutriments through the growth of blood vessels. William Li presented a new way of battling cancer – anti-angiogenesis through the food we eat.
The scientific backup
Personally, I salute these dedicated and passionate men. They bring fresh optimism and scientific knowledge and serve as models. You’re drawn by their commitment and determination to wipe out diseases in natural ways. Like Lance Armstrong. Folks, remember these are not folklore but scientifically proven. You’d need a steely determination to beat cancer at its own game.
Angiogenesis isn’t all that bad. Stimulants initiate angiogenesis when the body needs it. Inhibitors prune the blood vessels when the job is done. Normally, angiogenesis operates in a state of equilibrium. During inflammation, blood vessels grow at the site of infection to transport the nutrients for healing and repair. Then, they are cut back when the breach is closed.
Cancer angiogenesis is a different story. The blood vessels grow out of control feeding the abnormal mass with nutrients. Subsequently, cancerous cells are transported by way of these blood vessels to remote organs and tissues of the body. As a result, new cancerous growths are established at these sites. This is metastasis, clinically manifested as cancer stages 3 or 4. By this time, the poor patient needs chemotherapy.
How Cancer start
Cancer starts with cells that are abnormal. Devoid of blood vessel for its nutriment, it enlarges to the size of a ballpoint pen. That tiny cancer mass is harmless. Until angiogenesis occurs. Then, it turns dangerous and deadly.
Thus, the key to treat cancer is to eradicate it before angiogenesis.
Foods that prevent cancer
How? Consume foods that inhibit angiogenesis. These are tea, small berries, grape or wine and an array of functional foods.
A mix of these foods delivers a greater impact. Drinking two different teas gives an impact of 2. But drinking a mixture of both teas dispenses an impact of 6 instead of just 4 (from a scale of 0 to 10). Each tea enhances the effect of the other, a process called potentialization.
So, take action. Anti-angiogenesis food is one of the class of weapons in the battlefield. Isn’t it amazingly easy?
