
Being at war against cancer, demands to be fit for the task. It’s not about a slim diet, but being smart in what we put in our mouth. Experts agree that people with a BMI between 21 and 23 are in the comfort zone. The reason is quite simple, increase in weight means more body fat which produce cytokine hormone that increase our general state of inflammation. Inflammation is a key process that prostate cancer use to grow.
What exactly is BMI?
It’s the body mass index. It is one useful tool to determine if we are in that comfort zone.
Under 19 represents under weight.
19 to 21 a bit thin but no problem
21 to 23 in the comfort zone
23 to 25 a bit big but no problem
25 to 29 overweight
30 to 35 obese
over 35 asking for trouble
Word of caution: It’s only indicative, myself, I’m running around 27 which put me in the overweight category.
How to calculate your BMI
There is many sites where you can get a calculation of your BMI. There is an online tool on the National Institutes of Health where you can get your BMI.

Our Waist line can bring us that information. Body fat for men tend to accumulates in our belly. So the best way to find out is to look the size of our pants. If we are under 37 inches, there not much worry, the problem start when the pants are increasing one size for every new pair of pants or your belt buckles need new holes.
