36 years isn’t old. Being Brad Pitt partner is every girl’s dream! Six kids bring delight and inspiration! Being pregnant feels utterly wonderful! It looks like Angelina Jolie lives a very full and blissfully happy life. Now, add the possibility of cancer to that fairy tale kind of life and you’ll get an explosive situation.

That’s exactly what happened to Angelina Jolie. She felt some abdominal pain and pressure at her pelvic area with associated indigestion, loss of appetite and lack of energy. That pain triggered an emotional collapse while she was working on the set of her new film. She had been working so hard on her new movie, “In the Land of Blood and Honey” which she also directed, a first for her.
Her symptoms were non-specific. Nevertheless, they may point to ovarian cancer – the type of cancer that killed her Mom, Marcheline Bertrand.

What she did

With the realization that she has a positive history of ovarian cancer, she did the next best thing. She consulted a doctor – a really smart choice! After undergoing a series of tests, Angelina was relieved that she came out cancer-free.

After that scary false alarm experience, Angelina is determined to live her life to the fullest.

Bottom line

Was that due to too much stress from directing and acting on her new movie? The question here is to listen to what our body is saying. When in doubt it is always wise to consult a doctor. Better that than to deny that nothing is happening to us. It’s better to be assured that it’s a false alarm rather than seeking medical attention when it might be so late. Remember, the earlier we seek medical help when we feel the first unusual symptoms the better would be our chances at survival.

And yes, let’s take good care of ourselves. Let’s continue eating a serving of 5-10 functional fruits and veggies every day. Let’s not forget our 30 minutes of daily exercise. We’ll keep these habits so we can keep cancer at a distance.
