When cruising in our car we see different signs on both sides of the road. Some signs notify us on the correct speed limit; some read, “Yield” and some signs show directions. There’s one that tells us, “Restricted!” that may mean don’t go here by mistake, don’t continue on here or there’s danger here! So you might not as well continue. Bromelain is a mixture of enzymes found naturally in the juice and stems of pineapples. It’s a very effective meat tenderizer and an ideal marinade. This enzyme is believed to help with the digestion of proteins. Some bromelain appears to be absorbed by the body intact. However, like other enzymes, it is highly heat sensitive. Once cooked the enzyme lose its potency and doesn’t work anymore.

Bromelain is often marketed as a natural anti-inflammatory for conditions such as arthritis.
